Welcome to the special section of the site reserved for those special organizations that want to help the Scouts!!!

_____The Fort Knox Scouting Community is planning to hold it's 6th annual Future Leader's Day at Fort Knox on 4 AUG 06. We would like for your organization to participate this year. This event is sponsored by the Boy, Cub, and Girl Scouts of the Fort Knox Scouting Community, and is open to all members of the Scouting, Fort Knox, and surrounding community. Children of all ages are the focus of this event, since they are the future leaders of the nation. This event will afford Scouts the opportunity to complete work toward badges, pins, and achievements, and will afford ALL children an opportunity to try new things, learn something, and have FUN.

The nature of the event is that of a youth fair, during which there are activities, exhibits, and booths for our Future Leaders. These events are open to ALL children (not just scouts) and their families. We hope that this year we reach a much broader target market than just the surrounding areas. In the past Scout units have travelled from Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Tennesee, and Virginia to attend. As the event is scheduled for the first weekend after school starts (or the week prior to school starting, depending on where you are) in Kentucky, it is also an excellent opportunity for KY youth and residents, and we hope to draw boys, girls and their families from other locations in Kentucky, as well.

We would like for your organization to participate, but you would probably know best how you could help us. Many other organizations and businesses are providing a booth consisting of information on their organization or the area of expertise of their organization. This could include handouts, or displays, and interactive events, training, or activities (or all if you'd like) that would help the scouts and their families, and also provide for a good time. If you are need some ideas, check out this page, and for some of the specific requirements you could assist with, you can look HERE. Based on last year, we think that we could possibly expect around 1200 - 1500 youth and their families. Of course, you would be able to decorate your area with promotional materiel, flyers, etc., as we know this will benefit your organization.

Our start time on Saturday is 1000, so organizations and businesses will set up as early as needed to make that start time. If you would like to set up the evening before, you will be able to after 1200 on Friday, but contact us.

We know that your organization understands that the Cub, Boy, and Girl Scouts of America instill values and ideals, which are congruent to the values and ideals which are needed by, and essential to becoming productive, effective future leaders in our communities. We sincerely hope that you will assist us in this endeavor to further develop our "Future Leaders", provide interesting and educational information and/or fun activities, and at the same time provide a weekend of fun for all of the youth and families of Kentucky. For further information we can be contacted at operations@knoxscouting.org, or through the undersigned at 270-268-2165.

As we are a volunteer organization, we regretably do not have tables, tents, or other equipment to provide for your use in setting up your area. Please make sure you bring the equipment you need to set up. We recommend chairs and a table, and some overhead cover (the sun gets pretty hot in the park in AUG) for those working your booth.

ELECTRICITY / WATER - If you will need electricity for your exhibit/activity/booth please let us know, and we will attempt to accommodate your need's but electricity is limited at this location. Water is only available at the pavilion, if you need water we can place you near the pavilion, or you can transport the water to your location.

SALES - We do not at this time desire or plan to invite off-post vendors for the purpose of selling any type of items, (other than the Boy Scout shop and the Girl Scout shop. These businesses sell Cub, Boy, and Girl Scout specific paraphernalia, which is not sold by any businesses here on post) but that does NOT mean that businesses that sell things can't participate. If you can work an event or activity into a booth, we will, listen to anyone who'd like to see if their services/booth MIGHT be something that we'd consider allowing. We must inform you that in order to sell items additional coordination will have to be made with the Post Exchange and/or Post Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR).
