Crew 125 again Participated in Scouting for Food in NOV 05. Crew members helped collect food for the needy from the Van Voorhis Housing area on post.

Last year, the crew held a "shootout" at French Range in Nov 05. Crew members were exposed to the safety rules, handling and operation of several different Firearms, to include the Mossberg 500 Shotgun, AK-47, SKS, 30-05, Ruger 22, Tek-9, Tek-22, Ruger P90 9mm pistol, and more. . .
It was a blast.
The Crew is working on its hiking. An 8 Mile hike at Otter creek is planned for the 3rd weekend.

In the past, our sponsor had issued a challenge - they would pay half of the cost of the Class a shirt for the First 10 crew members to get their green uniform shirt! We dont have a repeat (yet, we're asking again) but your Shirts can be purchased at Radcliff in the Schwinn Shop, or their sister store in Louisville, or at the Onlins Scout shop HERE

  • APRIL 06 – SCOUT-O-RAMA – Attend – The crew will be camping out on the infield of the famous Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, and attend all of the events sponsored by other units. We will also be responsible to have our own booth. Discussed several options, and the crew liked the idea of doing a booth to promo the SLT SIMEX at Future Leaders Day. Idea would be to get some computers (laptops most likely) and connect them together to let folks see what the game is like, and how the simex would work. Can also give out free game CDs.

JUL
AUG
4-6 AUG 06 - Future Leaders Day - Attend - this event is sponsored by….. US! The Fort Knox Scouting Community hosts FLD every year. The event has activities for young people from kindergarten through age 99. Last year was the first year for the Scout Leadership and Teamwork SIMulation Exercise (SLT SIMEX) using the Americas Army video game. All the boys that played loved it, and even the girls that didn’t think they’d like it, really liked it. There will hopefully be other activities (rock wall, Army Marksmanship unit) but you can help us by bringing up some ideas on what activities we can do for teens at this event. It is the first weekend after school starts, so it’s a great help for us in recruiting for the crew, if we can get other teens to come to the event.
